Isolator Track

The need for an isolator track is based on specific component characteristics which adversely affect proper presentation to the GSM Platform placement head. If the component has any of the following characteristics, an isolator track will be required:

A. If the component has excessive mold flashing on the body, component separation/isolation is required prior to pick up. This keeps a second component from being pulled during presentation.

B. If the component has leads on all sides which allow for two parts to weave together, component separation/isolation is required.

C. If the component weight causes multiple parts to “push” together such that vacuum pickup cannot occur, component separation/isolation is required.

D. If the component is thin would “shingle” or “overlap” during feeding, component separation/isolation is required.
